The following documents must be requested for a program that is taught in English in Germany.

  • A recognized qualification
  • Certified transcripts of your previous study notes
  • Fluency test in English
  • GRE or GMAT
  • Motivation or reference letters (optional).

Your qualifications must meet the standards of German higher education, otherwise, you will not be allowed to follow a normal university course. On this occasion, the University of your choice may ask you to take a preparatory course to provide you with the skills and knowledge necessary to participate in the normal course of your objective.
According to your proficiency test in English, there are several types of scores accepted in German universities, but most of the time they are the TOEFL and the IELTS.
The minimum score required to be admitted is 80 TOEFL and 6.5 IELTS but varies according to the university and the type of course. At the graduate level, English is of a higher standard, which means that the minimum scores are higher than those of the undergraduate courses.
In any case, we recommend that you obtain the highest possible result because it plays an important role in your admission, especially in high demand universities where competition is fierce and the admission committees must have several performance elements.
The other standardized tests mentioned in the list are required mainly in the fields of economics and business. If you have chosen a course of this type, be prepared to take the GMAT or GRE, as indicated by the University of your choice.
