Like we earlier stated There are few Lagos Business School MBA scholarships available and awarded to students on the basis of financial need and merit. Candidates can apply for a scholarship once they have been offered a place on the programme.

Lagos Business School Scholarship 2019

Lagos Business School awards a number of scholarships every year to outstanding students with proven financial need.
To apply for Lagos Business School scholarship, you should submit a filled scholarship application form to the MBA Admissions Office within the first week of getting an admission letter.
The Lagos Business School scholarship committee meets during the second week of admission letters being sent out. The Lagos Business School Scholarship awardees are notified by the end of the same week.
The Lagos Business School scholarships cover the full tuition for the MBA programme. If awarded, you will be responsible for other personal expenses including housing and feeding.
To qualify, you must have applied and given admission to participating in the MBA programme.

First, you should know that Lagos Business School offers both academic and executive education programmes, as outlined below;

  • Academic Programmes: These include the Full-time MBA, Executive MBA and the Modular Executive MBA.
  • Executive Education: On the other hand, include Advanced Management Programme, Agribusiness Management Programme, Chief Executive Programme, Customized Programmes, Management Acceleration Programme, Open Seminars, and Owner Management Programme. We’ll look at the details later.

Lagos Business School short courses 2019|course Modules

In Lagos Business School courses are offered in different modules. There are the Personal effectiveness and working group module, the Decision Making Considerations and Business Integration Module, the Basic Management Disciplines Modules and the Elective Module.
1. Under the Personal Effectiveness and Working in Groups Module, the courses offered are Negotiation, Business Games, Team Building, Communication and Project Management.
2. Under the Decision Making Considerations and Business Integration Module, the courses available are Economic Analysis, Business Ethics, Analysis of Business Problems, Social-Political Environment of Business and Business Policy.
3. Under the Basic Management Disciplines Module, the courses are the management of Human Resources, Marketing, Finance, Entrepreneurship, Operations, Management Information Systems, Corporate Financial Accounting and cost and management accounting.

Lagos Business School: Programme Structure

The MBA programme at the Lagos Business School follows structure below;

  • Brush Up: This is a preparatory module with which you’re expected to kick start your programme. It provides a foundational experience ahead of your MBA courses. You will be exposed to sessions in Business, Accounting, Mathematics, English, and Quantitative Analysis. Brief sessions are also organized on business etiquette and dress sense so that you can always comport yourself properly anywhere you are, as an ambassador of the school. It lasts for four (4) weeks in the month of September.
  • Year One: This is the first year of your programme. You must ensure to take all the courses offered in the curriculum for the year. It is divided into three (3) semesters, each lasting three (3) months; October-December, January-March and April-June.
  • Internship: The internship is a 3-month on-field exercise that allows you to gain exposure in the business world and apply the knowledge you must’ve learnt in your first year.
  • Year Two: Here, you’re given the freedom to choose elective courses which you can take at school or at an exchange programme which the school runs with any of its strategic partners.

At the end of the programme, you can only graduate if you’re able to attain the stipulated minimum credits as distributed below;

  • Core Courses: 60.5 credits
  • Internship: 6 credits
  • Electives: 12 credits

Lagos Business School MBA

The Lagos Business School MBA programme is a standard programme that is in line with global best practice without neglecting professionalism and high ethical standards.
The focus of the MBA is to develop responsible leaders for Africa starting from Nigeria.
Prior to being considered for admission, you have to meet the requirements listed above in the requirement section
Usually, the application process takes about four months, Some of the features of the programme are highlighted below:

  • Three years of minimum work experience is mandatory for all candidates
  • The programme length is 18 months. You have to complete 15 months of in-class study and at least 72 credit hours of coursework to successfully complete the programme. There are three semesters in all; two semesters in the first academic year, one semester in the final year.
  • The last semester is an elective semester and students can choose to participate in a student exchange program with our partner schools abroad or offer electives locally.

In the course of your MBA, students are also expected to undertake an action learning project. In this case, groups of students will be required to review the operations of a selected small and medium enterprise (SME) and help design what will take the firm to the next level.

Lagos Business School Executive MBA

The Executive MBA also known as EMBA is an intense programme that is designed to prepare potential executives for senior leadership.
The programme provides an analytical and integrated understanding of business management which allows participants to apply for learning and project work directly to their own organisations while building a strong network of like-minded colleagues across a wide range of industries.
The goal of the EMBA is to create an environment where participants can learn how to handle difficult real-life problems by probing, discussing and working together as a team towards achieving a deeper insight and solving organizational problems.
The EMBA is best for people in full-time employment in positions as it enables them to apply what they learn while they complete their academic programme. The exposure offered by the EMBA is a well-rounded experience that gives participants a balanced view of life.
The programme cost N3,500,000 per session. The fee is payable in instalments at the beginning of each semester, and it covers tuition and course materials. The fee is also subject to periodic reviews.
The programme is delivered in six 14-week semesters spread over two sessions for a period of 24 months. A session begins in January and ends in December.
Classes hold on Fridays from 1.30 p.m to 7.45 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9.00 a.m to 1.45 p.m. In addition, there is a five-day intensive week once every semester, where classes hold from 9.00 a.m to 3.30 p.m. from Monday through to Friday. There are no classes on the Saturday following an intensive week.
Executive education at LBS is comprehensive, drawing on experiences of multinational faculty and participants. Our system of teaching ensures that participants gain management knowledge and skills, by employing the case-study method and group-work approach to learning. We believe in learning by doing.

WOLE OSHIN – PRESIDENT 
Wole is the founder and Group Managing Director of Custodian and Allied Plc. Having graduated from the University of Lagos with a B.Sc. in Actuarial Science, Wole at various times worked at the National Insurance Corporation of Nigeria (NICON), Femi Johnson & Company Limited (Insurance Brokers) and Crusader Insurance Plc, from where he left to found Custodian in 1994. Wole has over 26 years’ experience in Insurance Underwriting/Clai ms, Marketing and Investment.
He serves on the Board of several companies and was on the Presidential Committee that set up the reforms in the Pensions Industry. Wole is a past Chairman of the Nigerian Insurers Association, former Council member of the West Africa Insurance Institute (WAII), a member of the Council of the West African Insurance Companies Association (WAICA). He is a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria and an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute, U.K. He is the first and only African and also a Director of the International Insurance Society (IIS) New York, the elite society of insurance companies worldwide. He is an alumnus of the Harvard Business School and Lagos Business School.
  BOLA ADESOLA – VICE PRESIDENT 
Bola Adesola was appointed Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Standard Chartered Bank Nigeria Ltd in March 2011. Prior to joining the bank, she was an Executive Director in First Bank of Nigeria Plc where she was responsible for the Corporate Banking business, and later managing the entire business in the Lagos Directorate including retail, c orporate and commercial banking. Previously, she was Managing Director of Kakawa Discount House, Nigeria, where she drove record business performance.
She also worked in Citibank for 9 years in senior leadership roles in Nigeria and Tanzania. As MD/CEO of one of Standard Chartered’s most promising markets, Bola provides leadership for the Group in Nigeria through developing overall country strategy and direction. Her deep knowledge of the Nigerian market, strong client and regulatory relationships, and broad banking experience drive the continued strengthening of Standard Chartered Bank’s franchise in Nigeria. Called to the Nigerian Bar in 1985, Bola Adesola has over 25 years banking experience.
An alumnus of Harvard Business School and Lagos Business School, she also holds a Law degree from the University of Buckingham, UK. Bola is an Honorary Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers Nigeria and sits on the Board of the Financial Markets Dealers Association having served in various capacities in developing the Nigerian Money Market, the Interbank Settlement Systems and the Discount House subsector. Bola also chairs the Central Bank of Nigeria Bankers’ Sub-Committee on Women’s Economic Empowerment. She is a member of the Nigeria National Competitiveness Council, inaugurated by President Goodluck Jonathan in 2013 and was recently appointed the first female Vice President of Lagos Business School Alumni Association (LBSAA).
  BONAVENTURE CHIBUEZE EGBOH – SECRETARY  
Mr. Bonaventure Egboh is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of TRIBOCH International Limited, a group of diverse companies operating in the Seed Production, Agro-chemicals, Food Processing and FMCGs Retail sub-sectors of the economy.
Mr. Egboh is an entrepreneur with extensive experience in marketing and distribution. His core expertise is in brand positioning. He gained vast industry experience working with The Candel Company Limited; a leading company in the Agricultural sector of the Nigeria economy for 21 years. He rose to become the GM, Sales and Marketing; hitting sales of N5.4B in 2011. He left to pioneer Triseeds, Impact Chemicals, Trifoods, and Trimart – member companies of the TRIBOCH group.
He is a graduate of the University of Nigeria with a Bachelor’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning. Bonaventure has attended numerous programmes in Agriculture and Management across the world, including a Key Executives Programme at Harvard Business School in 2009.  Bona is a proud alumnus of the prestigious Lagos Business School (LBS), completing the Senior Management Programme (SMP) in 1997 and the Executive MBA in 2013. He is a member of the National Institute of Town Planners and an Executive member of the National Institute of Marketing (NIM) of Nigeria.

  ADEMOLA B. ALADEKOMO,  IMMEDIATE PAST PRESIDENT
Demola Aladekomo  is the Group Managing Director of CHAMS Group and the Chairman of Chams Plc. He started CHAMS 27 years ago  as the first indigenous computer maintenance outfit. Over the years, the company has pioneered many new technologies and provided intelligent  solutions to a wide range of public and private initiatives. Some of his achievements in the field of IT practice include the first wide-area-network  on PCs in Nigeria, the first company to venture into card technologies in Nigeria and the Guinness Book of Records recognition for Chams City  Innovation.
With a commitment and passion to provide solutions that leads to the enhancement of the living standards of the Nigerian people, he led the  team that won the concession on the Identity Management Program in Nigeria among othertrail blazing efforts in Nigeria.
Demola is acknowledged as the brain behind the success of the first e-payment card in Nigeria birthed by the Valucard project working with a consortium of 5 indigenous Banks. Demola was also part of the first Chief Executive Program at the Lagos Business School (LBS) and now serves as the President of the Lagos Business School Alumni Association (LBSAA). He is the immediate Past President and a Fellow of the Nigeria Computer Society (FNCS), a member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) and a fellow of the Computer Professional Registration Council (CPN). He is the Chairman, Board of Trustees: Volunteer Corps, a non-governmental organisation committed to professional volunteerism for public school education. Prof.Pat Utomi co-founded the Lagos Business School, now Pan African University in 1993 with the Opus Dei, a Catholic religious group.
As an entrepreneur he has founded or co-founded companies that are active in fields including financial services, ICT, Media and Agriculture. He was candidate for President of Nigeria in 2007 and 2011.
Prof. has reached the top in several different endeavours, becoming one of Nigeria’s top managers in Manufacturing before his 33rd birthday, reaching a Presidential Advisory position at 27; earning two Master Degrees and a PhD at 26, a Professorship and global acknowledgement as a leading scholar in Business, Political Economy and Media Studies in his forties.
He also belongs to many professional bodies. He is a member, Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, NIPR, Institute of Directors, IOD, Nigeria Economic Summit Group and Nigeria Economic Society.
He coordinated the establishment of several civil society groups on good governance and accountability such as Transparency in Nigeria,The Centre for Values in Leadership, The Concerned Professionals, and the Restoration Group. In the business sphere, Utomi was the vice-chairman, Platinium–Habib Bank. He is an accomplished columnist, and chairman, BusinessDay Media Limited and creator of Patito’s Gang, a television talk show.
He has served on the key apex private sector associations including the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI); The National Council of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria; and the Nigeria Employers Consultative Association (NECA). He is active on the International speaking circuit, especially on the subjects of Growth economics, comparative development, Leadership, the Curse of Oil and China’s Economic surge and growing influence in Africa. He has collaborated fairly frequently with the center for strategic and international studies (CSIS) in Washington, and Chatham House, in the UK. He has also written commissioned papers for the UKs DFID including the latest collaboration with Colleagues from Oxford on the Political Economy of growth in Nigeria. (2006).
