1. Full UIST Undergraduate Scholarships to Foreign Students in Republic of Macedonia, 2019

There is an open portal to apply for a scholarship hosted by the Ministry of Education and Science Republic of Macedonia.

Foreign students are the only ones that are eligible for this scholarship at the University of Information Science and Technology “St Paul the Apostle” in Ohrid, the Republic of Macedonia.

This scholarship is for undergraduates who are not above twenty-two years.

The Ministry of Education and Science is on a mission to equally participate or give their own quota to ensure there is an ardent development in the continent.

They plan on developing their educational system, boost science and technology improvement by organizing competent research teams that will work at improving these areas.

The Ministry of Education and Science are defiant in this pursuit and because they have seen your keen desire to access quality education and give your input, they have provided you with this opportunity.

Deadline: The deadline for application is July 31,

Course Level: Undergraduate programs are the only available courses to study.

Study Subject: Candidates not older than 22 years are the only eligible to pursue the available courses that are listed below;

(1) Faculty of Communication Networks and Security (CNS);
(2) Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE);
(3) Faculty of Information Systems, Visualization, Multimedia and Animation (ISVMA);
(4) Faculty of Information and Communication Science (ICS)
(5) Study Program of Digital Business Informatics (DBI)
(6) Faculty of Applied IT, Machine Intelligence and Robotics (AITMIR) and
(7) Study Program of E-Government, E-Business, and E-Culture.

Scholarship Award: The scholarship provides for:

•   Residency and permit fees and complete school fees.
•   Return airfare from the applicant’s home country.
•   Accommodation and food for ten months per year at the university’s dormitory.
•   82 Euros will be given as monthly allowance over a period of nine months per year.
•   A provision of primary healthcare insurance is provided.

Nationality: It is available to foreign nationals.

Number of ScholarshipsOnly one scholarship is available.

The scholarship is to be taken in the Republic of Macedonia.

 

Eligibility for the Scholarship: 

Eligible Countries: A full scholarship will be awarded to a selected  candidate from each of the eligible countries: USA, the Organization of American States (OAS), France, Austria, Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, China, Russia, Ukraine, Hungary, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Finland, Mongolia, India, Indonesia, Egypt, Morocco, Kazakhstan, Portugal, Cyprus, Spain, Armenia, Belarus, Thailand, Israel, Jordan, Georgia, Romania, and Greece.

Linguistic Requirements:  English is the official language of the programme and courses are held by lecturers of international repute.

Application Procedure: 

Application process: To process their applications, prospective are required electronic copies from the following original documents:

  • Application Form
    •    Official high school diploma or certificate (where applicable);
    •    Official transcripts;
    •    Proof of English proficiency: All students that do not have English as their core language are required to provide evidence that their spoken and written command of the English language is appropriate for the programme they are applying.

The required evidence may take the form of either:

  1.  Proper education in the English language that was conducted for at least fifteen months.
  2.  English language test results that displayed how he/she excelled.

Accepted results are:
-Grade C  in English Language at GCSE / GCEO exams.
-Grade B in English Second Language at IGCSE exams.
-An overall band of 65 in IELTS exams.
-A score of 550 in the paper-based TOEFL (213 for computer-based, 90 for Internet-based).
-Subscores of 550 n Critical Reading and 550 or better in Writing in SAT.

•  A medical report that contains a series of tests that have been conducted inclusive of HIV and Hepatitis.
•    A copy of a Passport which must be valid for the next 4 years;
•    There must be letters of attestation from at least two lecturers who have their contact details imputed into the letters for verification purposes. These letters must proceed from people of repute who have a track record of integrity and diligence.

All submitted documents must be in English or have certified translations in English.

2. Marie Curie Individual Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Graz.

There is an open portal for applications into the  Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions Postdoctoral Fellowships at the University of Graz (Austria). All International students are qualified to apply for this fellowship programme.

The University of Cagliari was founded in 1606  and it is located in Cagliari, Italy.  It has a sum total of  11 faculties. The University has a little over 36,000 enrolled students, teaching the staff of around 1,300 and a technical-administrative staff of close to 1,300 people..  Students of University of Cagliari also manage a web radio UnicaRadio.it.

Thanks to its international policy, studies and its numerous agreements with prestigious universities, at the moment the University of Cagliari is one of the largest enterprises in the Region of Sardinia, in Europe and around the world.

 

Scholarship Description: 

Deadline: The deadline for submission of application is September 12.

Course Level:  Postdoctoral programme is available to pursue in this Fellowship.

Study Subject: Fellowship isn’t restricted as all courses can be studied.

Scholarship Award: This is how you apply through the University of Graz for an Individual Fellowship (IF) within the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions (MSCAs):

  • Receive up to 400 € to take care of your travel costs to Austria
  • Participate in a free intensive workshop on the application for MSCA – IFs in Graz

Nationality: International students can fully participate in this application process.

Number of Scholarships: This is unknown for now but you’re advised to make hay while the sun shines.

Eligible Countries: Applications from international students for the Fellowship are welcomed.

Entrance Requirements: To be eligible for this scholarship you have to meet up with  the following requirements:

  • Mentor’s approval at the University of Graz.
  • Eligibility criteria fulfillment of the IF
  • You must have not lived in Austria for more than 12 months in the past 3 years prior to the deadline for application.
  • You must be an experienced researcher that possesses at least 5 years of full-time research experience.
  • Proposal submission with the University of Graz as host organization in the call of 2019
  • Be within the first 20 candidates to register for the incentive and fulfill the other needed requirements

4. Talent Austria Scholarships For Doctoral Candidates

Talent Austria Scholarships For Doctoral Candidates is a Partially Funded international scholarship offered by the Government of Austria for international students. Certain Student is eligible for this scholarship.

This PhD scholarship can be taken for pursuing in Health Sciences, Agricultural Sciences, Natural sciences, Technical Sciences, Medicine, Social sciences, Humanities and Art.

31 December is the deadline to send applications for Talent Austria Scholarships For Doctoral Candidates. This scholarship can be taken at Any Austrian university. The scholarship application form can be seen here

5. Master of Law Scholarships at WU Executive Academy in Austria, 2019-2020

The WU Executive Academy is offering scholarships for those candidates that are interested in pursuing a course in Master of Legal Studies (European Business Law) or Master of Legal Studies. This scholarship is accessible to anybody as citizens of all countries are eligible for the scholarship.

The WU Executive Academy in collaboration with the business school of the Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU) brings an excellent reputation and more than 100 years of experience to the field of executive education.

6. 16 New PhD Positions for International Doctoral Students in Austria, 2019-2020

Applications are welcomed for the doctoral program for the academic year 2019-2020. This program is aimed at highly motivated students who desire to work in the field of Logical Methods in Computer Science.
The LogiCS doctoral program is a PhD degree program that is sponsored by the Austrian Science Fund FWF and jointly run by the three Austrian universities TU Wien (Vienna University of Technology), Graz University of Technology and Johannes Kepler University Linz.
If you happen to be a native of a non-English speaking country, you have a duty to become proficient in speaking and writing English so as not to jeopardize your chances of success before, during and after application.

Deadline for Application: Applications can be submitted at any time and they are screened on the following dates: May 1,  June 1,  July 1,  and September 1.

Course Level: Positions are available for candidates interested in a PhD programme.

Study Subject: Opportunities that are available to work in the following fundamental fields of computer science are: Databases / Artificial Intelligence (applications of logic to databases and artificial intelligence); Verification (computer-aided verification, in particular model checking)and application domains such as security & privacy, cyber-physical systems, and distributed systems and Computational Logic (proof theory, computational complexity and automated deduction);

Scholarship Award: The LogiCS program is sponsored by the Austrian Science Fund. In accordance with FWF regulations and the collective bargaining agreement of the Austrian universities, the doctoral students will be granted employment as researchers at a yearly salary of EUR 21,284.48 after taxes and social/health insurance deductions (effective January 2017; the average Austrian salary over all age groups is EUR 20,543.00). There are salary supplements and additional tax deductions for families with children.

Number of Scholarships: In the years 2019-2022, the college will admit at least 16 PhD students in which about 30% of the positions are reserved for female candidates.

Eligible Countries: Applicant from any country can apply.

Entrance Requirements: LogiCS invites applications from all applicants. Candidates should possess either an MSc or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or related fields, and an excellent track record of study. Candidates with comparable achievements-such as a bachelor of honors-  may just also be considered. Previous knowledge in the areas of the doctoral college (computational logic, databases/AI, verification) is desirable but not essential.

Linguistic Requirements: Non-native English speakers need to ensure that the proficiency of their English meets the doctoral program’s requirements to fully benefit from their courses. The doctoral program demands every applicant  to possess at least the following tests/scores for English language qualifications:
TOEFL score of at least 550 paper-based, 217 computer-based or 81 internet-based
IELTS score 6.0 or higher
CAE score B or higher

However, your command of the English language can be proven in many ways, depending on prior education of the student through an exhibition. To this end, students must hand in any language certificates, diplomas, that they possess as part of the application documents. Applicants’ command of the English language will also be assessed adequately during and after the application interviews.

7. Sir Robert Black Trust Fund for Undergraduate and Postgraduate Students:

Applicants are welcome to apply for the Sir Robert Black Trust Fund Postgraduate Scholarships for international Postgraduate students as well as local students in the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

The true aim of the award is to provide opportunities for people of exceptional merit, who have over time demonstrated their potential to serve the community through the qualities of personal leadership, to develop their initiative and character, so that they may possess greater social usefulness which will in turn spur society standard. Priority will, therefore, be given to candidates of proven ability and experience in fields which have a significant impact on community life, e.g. medical studies, journalism, social work, education, arts, political sciences, etc.

9. OPEC Fund for International Development Internship Programme.

Applicants are invited to apply for the OPEC Fund for International Development Internship programme to study in Austria. Only citizens of OFID’s Member Countries can partake this internship. The program is open to any applicants between 20 and 30 years of age. This is an unpaid internship programme so the intern bears some cost.

Field of Internship: Sequel with the particular activities of the departments/units/group that are within the horizon of OFID, the area of the program will include developmental economy; project financing; grants; financial management (investment/treasury and accounting/control);  public relation and information; legal; human resource; administration and protocol; as well as information technology.

Eligibility: The program is open to all applicants, between 20 and 30 years of age, university students who are about to graduate or who have just graduated from university (undergraduate program), with preference given to citizens of OFID’s Member Countries (Please see the full list of OFID Member Countries).

Internship Open for International Students: Only citizens of OFID’s Member Countries can partake this internship some of which are; Algeria, Ecuador, Gabon, Indonesia, Iran, IR of, Iraq, Kuwait, Libya, Nigeria, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Venezuela.

Is this paid internshipThe internship would not be paid for as the program is intended to be a learning experience, the interns will not receive any remuneration whatsoever, including reimbursement of costs of visas, travel, accommodation, and living expenses, as well as any transportation costs incurred in connection with their commuting to OFID’s Headquarters during the program.

Internship Description: In line with the vision  “to aspire to a world where Sustainable Development, centered on human capacity-building, is a reality for all”, OFID provides the opportunity of an Internship Program for students of diverse academic backgrounds to strengthen their capacity by enriching their educational experience through practical day-to-day work in an International Organization.

The program is open to all applicants, falling under the ages 20-30, university students who are about to graduate or who have just graduated from the university (undergraduate program), with good preference given to citizens of OFID’s Member Countries (Please see the full list of OFID Member Countries).

Internship Duration: The program will span for a period of up to three months on a full-time basis. The program will be opened twice a year and the periods are;

1. Summer period i.e. from July until the end of September, with the deadline of the application, is April 1st

2. Spring period i.e. from January until the end of March, with the deadline of the application, is October 1st

How to Apply: The selected candidate must be able to present a valid and well-documented health or medical insurance policy in Austria or a similar arrangement in accordance with which the candidate will be fully medically covered during the duration of the program. She/He must also be requested to present the following documents to be sent to personnel at fid.org. They are;

  • An up-to-date curriculum vitae
  • Copy of University Degree or equivalent OR an original letter of confirmation from a university/school certifying the enrolment of the applicant as an undergraduate student at the said university/school
  • A Copy of up-to-date university transcripts showing the cumulative GPA.
  • A short essay in English of about 150-250 words outlining the applicant’s motive for seeking an internship under the Program.

For the purpose of effectiveness, OFID will only entertain applications from qualified candidates who complete the official online Internship Application Form.

10. ESA’s Postdoctoral Internal Research Fellowship Programme (RIRF).

The European Space Agency (ESA) is seeking applicants to apply for its Postdoctoral Research Fellowship Programme running two years. National Member States of the ESAQ and the European Cooperating States are eligible to apply for this fellowship programme.

ESA’s postdoctoral Internal Research Fellowship programme (RIRF) in its bid to produce excellent experts seeks to offer young scientists and engineers the possibility to carry out research in a range of disciplines related to space science, space technologies or space applications.

The European Space Agency (ESA) is Europe’s open pathway to space. With a core mission is to shape the development of Europe’s space capability and also ensure that investment in space continuously delivers benefits to the citizens of Europe and the world.

Course Level: Fellowship is available to pursue postdoctoral research programs.

Study Subject: Fellowship is awarded to a range of disciplines related to space science, space applications or space technology.

Scholarship Award: Contracts are biennial. ESA will provide the remuneration for a single expatriate Research Fellow which will range from €3,000 to €3,800 per month depending on the location of the ESA Establishment at that time.

Number of Scholarships: Not Known

Scholarship can be taken in Paris, France

Eligibility: The following criteria must be met in order for applicants to be eligible for the scholarship:

  • Applications will only be accepted if they are from nationals of the ESA Member States and the European Cooperating States, together with Canada which has a strong cooperation agreement with ESA.
  • Applicants must have recently completed their PhD in a field closely connected to space activities.

Nationality: Nationals of the ESA Member States and the European Cooperating States are eligible to apply for this programme.

The national bodies responsible for space in these countries are also part and parcel of  ESA’s governing Council. They are Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, The Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.

 

How to Apply: Applications have to be sent via the ESA online application form available in the ‘how to apply’ section of the opportunity. A cover letter, CV, and list of publications, with bibliographical references, should accompany the application, in one document (Word or PDF format any preferable one). Each referee named in the application form will have to send a reference letter to temp.htr-at-esa.int. No application that comes after the closing date will be accepted under any condition.
