Institut de Recherche Interdisciplinaire en Biologie Humaine et Moléculaire: IRIBHM is delighted to invite applications for the IRIBHM PhD Scholarship for International Students. The IRIBHM Scholarship is designed for International Students (non – Belgium citizens) pursuing their PhD program in the field of life science at the Université Libre de Bruxelles.
IRIBHM Scholarship is powered by the IRIBHM, is a research institute of the Faculty of Medicine of the “Université libre de Bruxelles, Université d’Europe” (ULB). It was founded in the nineteen sixties by J.E. Dumont and A. Ermans with the aim to apply an interdisciplinary approach to the study of endocrinology and, in particular, the pathophysiology of the thyroid gland.
The Institute is staffed by researchers with diverse training, including physicians, physicists, (bio)chemists and biologists. The activities of the IRIBHM are taking place on two different campuses of the ULB: Campus Erasme in the suburb of Brussels and Campus Gosselies where it is part of the Institut de Biologie Moléculaire et Médicale (IBMM).
The IRIBHM has privileged interactions with the Laboratory of Medical Genetics and the Laboratory of Neurophysiology.

The Scholarship is hosted in Belgium.
Non-Belgium students may apply the IRIBHM Scholarship Program.
The winners of the IRIBHM Scholarship will receive benefit of travel expenses are reimbursed and free accommodation.
IRIBHM PhD Scholarship Requirements
In order to be eligible for the IRIBHM Scholarship, you must meet the following requirements:
- Please note that only diplomas and degrees equivalent to EU Master Degree awarded by a higher education institution are acceptable, which include project work summarized in a written “small thesis”. Candidates who have not yet obtained their degree will be considered if they can convincingly argue that they will finish their studies within 2018 academic year.
- Please note that this program is restricted to non-Belgians, currently not living in Belgium. Applicants must have obtained an academic degree or diploma for maximum 5 years and this period shall include the ongoing academic year.
