What you need to know about the Scholarship:

The mission of The MasterCard Foundation is to advance education and financial inclusion to catalyze prosperity in developing countries.  The Scholars Program is a 10-year, US $500 million initiative that will enable 15,000 academically talented students from economically disadvantaged communities (mostly in sub-Saharan Africa) to attend secondary school and/or university.

Michigan State University (MSU) is a public research university in East Lansing, Michigan, United States. MSU was founded in 1855 and became the nation’s first land-grant institution under the Morrill Act of 1862, serving as a model for future land-grant universities.

 Level/Field of Study:

The Scholarship is open fo Africans and students from Developing  countries in USA pursuing their Undergraduate and Masters degree programmes. The Scholarship is open to any field carried out in the universiity.

Host Nationality:

The Scholarship is hosted in the United States of America.

Eligible Nationality:

The Scholarship is designed for Africans and other Developing countries for the 2018-2019 academic sesion

Scholarships for Africans & Students from Developing Countries in USA Requirements:

  • Being a citizen of a Sub-Saharan African country
  • Excelling academically
  • Come from an economically disadvantaged background
  • Having demonstrated the will to give back to your community, country, or continent
  • Having expressed the desire and intention to return to your home country after completing your studies.

The MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program at Michigan State University for master’s students is open to students who have already completed a bachelor’s degree at an African university and are residents or citizens of an African country.
